The description is correct. It's almost inaudible.I despise noisy PC fans. Their high-pitched whine drives me crazy. That's why I've been converting over to fanless mini-PC's.But some fanless PC's overheat. I bought this fan in hopes of cooling an overheating mini-PC. I placed it on top of the case and let it run. Ten minutes later, the PC as cold as if it were unplugged.Does the fan move much air? No. But it's enough to keep my fanless PC cool.Is it quiet? Absolutely. It's very, very quiet.I have good hearing, and I need to bring my ear within 12 inches to hear anything from this fan. And the only noise I hear is a very soft, pleasant whoosh. The sound level is totally acceptable for any purpose, even if it's next to the pillow on your bed. Just a very gentle whoosh. No bearing noise. No high-pitched whine. No low-pitched whine, either. Just a barely audible whoosh. And I mean *barely*.I tested it on power supplies varying from 5-12 volts. It worked equally well on all of them.I'm ordering more.

I installed three of these as exhaust fans in the top of an Ethnoo Pro case (new Ryzen 7 3700X build). They don't have rubber vibration-damping pads at the attachment points, so I used "Cosmos 12 Pieces Black Rubber PC CPU/Case Fan Mounting Screws Rivets" instead of the included metal screws (which are not black and so don't match the color of the fan chassis, if that's important to you). Worked like a charm--the fans are so quiet that I have to lean over and look into the case to determine if the blades are spinning. The three 140's pull a lot of air, and under normal working loads (not gaming), my internal temps are stable in the mid-30's. Even in a warmish room, I have yet to see 40C. It helps that the case is large and well-designed for air flow, plus I have other fans working to pull air (two 120s in the bottom and a 200 in the front), but for three 140s situated that close to the user to be that quiet--nicely done, Arctic!

Worked as intended. good replacement for NXT fan. only issue is lacking the LED holes on the frame like the NXT has.
