For the price, this was perfect for installing into my Tripp-Lite 1500 SLT that I refurbished with new batteries. Before I bought the fan, I tried setting the UPS (Uninterrupted power supply) up in my living room, but the noise was unbearable. Even when watching a movie, the fan was much too loud. After some research, I found that an 80mm fan like this could make it quieter. After installing this, the noise is basically GONE. I cannot hear this fan in my living room unless I put my head 2 feet away from the UPS. And even that close, the noise is VERY quiet. With the TV on, it is impossible to hear this new fan.I can't say how much air this thing moves, but I know that it is enough. But the main reason for buying this was the silent operation and this nails it.

Installed on a slim line Rosewill case as the main draw fan, since it is a vertical mount, the rifle bearing is as good as you can get without going expensive ball bearings, and much better than a sleeve bearing; at least according to most bearing manufacturers such as : http://www.nmbtc.com/fans/white-papers/fans_ball_vs_sleeve/ . Install was a breeze it came with the mounting screws and a three pin MOBO to four pin Molex adapter, the cord had plenty of length for those who have a bigger case. One week in and it's much quieter than the stock fan my PC had, no issues. So far I would recommend, but I'll keep you all updated.

Definitely a very, very quiet fan. As other reviewers have stated, the CFM rating is a touch low, but if you're looking for something silent (or close enough!) for your HTPC or server needs, this fan is both the cheapest option AND a great performing one.I haven't owned it long enough to comment on the rifle bearing, but this fan is replacing a loud, noisy fan that had its bearings fail recently after approximately 1 year of use, so I'm hoping this fan lasts quite a bit longer.

I bought 2 of these fans to fill the 80mm slots on the back of my case (Thermaltake Core V1). I was a bit skeptical about noise at first. 80mm fans don't have the best reputation for quiet operation. However, this fan has completely changed my view on 80mm fans. They are the quietest fans in my case, hands down. They're quieter than the 200mm fan that came with the case. They're quieter than the 92mm fan on my cpu cooler (Arctic Freezer 13, great cooler btw). And they're obviously quieter than the fans on my graphics card. I'm not sure what kind of voodoo they pulled off here, but these fans are amazing AND dirt cheap. 5 stars all the way.
