Generally speaking, PC case fans are commodity items of little interest or use to most. The average PC uses a low TDP processor, integrated graphics, and exists to be cheap, quiet, inoffensive, and.. cheap (again). Add on case fans are NOT for those PCs, they are (hopefully) for the overclocked i5/i7/Ryzen/Threadripper boxes with one or more video cards that tell you to get a MASSIVE POWER SUPPLY. You know if you're one of those people. The Corsair AF140 LED is a low cost, low noise case fan. While 140mm case fans are not uncommon anymore, they will not fit all cases, so you will want to check your situation. However, if you can use them, 140mm fans are the way to go. The motor hub is basically the same size as a 120mm fan, so the extra size basically all goes to the fan blades (which makes a huge difference in airflow at the same sound pressure level). Owing to its low rotational speed, the AF140 is very quiet, and the character of the noise is not annoying or high-pitched. The LED lighting is white (more my speed than the RGB trend), and some thought was given to how this works with the other materials. The hub and the fan blades have different light transmission characteristics, which creates some visual interest. I haven't seen another product that's taken this approach, but it's nice to look at and doesn't create excessive flicker.I used this fan on the front of a White Corsair Cube. The lighting goes well with the overall case aesthetic, and I was happy with the visual, cooling, and auditory performance. Definitely there's a non-proportional price premium on 140mm fan vs. their 120mm counterparts, but I definitely think it's worth it. The restrained visual presentation is more in keeping with my personality, but YMMV. Recommended
