Lepa BOL.Quiet Tri-Speed Cooling Fan LP-BOL12R Obsidian

My go to fans because they always work. I would highly recommend these as I have purchased 10 of these now without a single DOA or failure.Pros:- High airflow- Easy mounting options- Fairly quiet- Removable blades for easy cleaning- Good price point IMOCon(s): I don't really have a con, but as an FYI.- One fan came with the removable blades loose, so I assumed it may have been DOA. (These fans obviously don't work if the blades are not attached.) To my surprise after preparing to call LEPA, I more or less clicked it back in by accident, and it sprang to life like nothing ever happened.

its ok.. no automatic speed setting sucks since its only 3 pin. has a very loud "whining noise". Other than that its fine.

The list of other fans I would have tested would be much more longer and extensive except for the fact that I wanted to group in as few fans in a category of attributes I desired, those attributes being silence and a decent/high CFM rate. I also want to add that I was looking specifically for white LED fans, mainly for the front end of my computer case but I actually got around to these fans before settling on the Xigmatek fans. You'd be surprised how few fans exist out there with white LEDs on them that are actually decent. For the most part they have sad or mediocre CFM ratings and are sold predominantly on the fact that they're outfitted with lights while not being that great of a fan in the first place.A part of me wish I hadn't settled on this vanity though, because I honestly had no issue with these fans. In fact, I was more than impressed with them. These fans do come in a red and blue LED variant but what I was really looking for were white LEDs, and sadly, they just don't exist, which is a shame because these are probably some of the best 120mm fans I've used so far. I merely shorted myself out on the Xigmateks simply because of, well, they had the LEDs I wanted on them. But if I had to resort to another set of fans to do the job? You bet I'd fit these right back in.First impressions are always a big deal and these fans have that in strides. They're black, glossy, and even the translucent blades are just the right balance between where gray turns to a darker shade before turning absolutely black again. Funny enough, these fans look hauntingly similar to Enermax fans and I'm guessing they perform probably within the same range give or take whichever brand is on sale or not. I even took the liberty of checking on Newegg what sort of pricing 120mm Enermax fans would go for, and to my surprise I see a promo code for one of the fans which reads: LEPACOOLING15. That's Enermax using Lepa as part of their association via promo code; so I'm safe to assume Lepa is some sort of sister company to Enermax then? I mean that would explain a lot then...As for the performance of these fans themselves, there's not much else to say except that they're great when unobstructed. Obstructed, say in the likes of a hard drive bay or radiator then you'll have some problems. The airflow is fine it's just that the fan blades start to create some crazy audio anomalies, which is ironic because these fans give an abundant amount of static pressure but due to the noise they make when obstructed they'd be better off as an air flow solution rather than static pressure, even though it DOES do a great job at static pressure! So damned if you do, damned if you don't, I suppose. The fact you can take these fans apart to clean them is a nice touch too, though I'll be honest, I was a little scared to do it myself because I thought I was actually going to break the fan right off its motor which is held by the four, presumably durable, plastic chassis frames. Once you pop it off you pretty much have access to the motor itself if you need to get at it, and the fan blades themselves which can be cleaned with no problem at all. Then simply slip the fan blades right back on where you took them from and you're good to go.The resistor cables are also great if you aren't going in the direction of PWM or fan controller. At 800 rpm (5V) they're practically dead silent. At 1100 (7V) you start to hear a whisper of the motor beginning to work itself up along with the increased volume of air being pushed around and then at 1600, which I'm honestly convinced it's actually 1800 rpm, it starts to roar similarly to a conventional household fan. It's not as annoying but it's definitely noticeable, especially if you have three of them going off in tandem at max 12V. But even if you resort to using them at their 12V/maxed setting you'd be happy to know that you're utilizing a whopping 81.45 CFM, per fan, meaning if you are using three at once that's over 243 CFM you're pushing from three fans, and the only way to improve upon that while maintaining some degree of tolerable silence is to head over into the next echelon of CPU fans which are literally in the industrial class level which have their RPM ratings ramp up from 1850, all the way up to 3000! And even if you were to head into that direction then I'd suggest using EKWB EK-Vardar F3-120 High Static Pressure 120mm Cooling Fan but that's a whole other story brought to you on a whole other level.If what you care about most is performance with silence then these fans are right up your alley. If you're like me and you want performance, silence and... LEDs... well these fans will leave you sorely disappointed, only because they perform so darn well but don't have LEDs (at least not in the color I wanted them!) So I gave these fans a 4-star "I like them" rating because I really do like them, but I'd in fact love them if I had just that little bit more in what I was asking for. But let it be known here that these are some quality fans you'd be hard pressed to find something else to compare them to.

Sleek lookingMoves a nice amount of airVery tolerable noise levelGrabbed this to replace a CM Jet flow that died. While it does not move as much air (85CFM vs the Jet Flow's 95CFM) It does move a lot of air for very little noise.
