Wanted some (fairly) serious additional cooling for the i7-2600K but didn't want to spend a fortune. But the 16 GB of Corsair Vengeance memory modules I have installed are really tall (excellent heat dissipation, though) and most of the sub-$100 CPU coolers I researched either interfere w/the memory sticks or -- if they fit -- looked far too small to do any good.I really like the design of this Cooler Maser V6GT (w/6 heat riser tubes and staggered heatpipe array); it appeared to pack a lot of cooling capacity in a relatively small package. I ordered one and installed it in a Cooler Master HAF-922 case. I removed one fan and that gave me more than enough clearance for the Corsair memory.Removing one fan didn't compromise cooling: CPU idle temps hover in the 22*C - 25*C range; under heavy/full load I've reached 30*C - 39*C. Haven't OC'ed the i7, so no info to share there. I suppose the second fan would improve cooling a little, but based on lots of other reviews I've read these temps are quite good. And using the second fan would mean I'd lose 8GB RAM (fill only 2 slots instead of 4) to get enough fan clearance. For me the tradeoff was well worth it.Thumbs up:+ Excellent cooling+ Quiet+ Relatively compact for its effectiveness+ Easy install (read other Amazon reviews for useful hints)+ Plenty of clearance for tall memory modules if you orient the cooler properly and remove one fanThumbs down:- Manual and install instructions are terribleIntel i7-2600K16GB Corsair VengeanceMSI Z68a G43 (G3)Cooler Master HAF-922Antec EA-750WD Caviar Black 500GB / 7,200 RPMHighly recommended; good value

This aftermarket cooler gets the job done. im doing some minor OCing from 3.4Ghz to 4.2ghz so im never really pushing my amd 8320 8core processor to its limits.pros: great cooling! it basically creates an air vortex in my case that dissipates all the heat from my cpu.. i have it set up in a push pull set up so the air goes right out the back of my case. the cooler definitely surpassed my expectations, when i say it moves air, IT MOVES AIR. also it just looks freakin sweet!cons: this might only be preference but i think the vans are really loud. you have the option to change them, but you paid for them might as well get use out of the ones you already paid for instead of getting other ones. also whole unit takes up a ton of space in your case, make sure you're using low profile ram and connect everything you need to connect (fan headers in case you're planning on attaching fans to your mobo) it can get really REALLY tight in there if you dont. oh and the installation instructions suck but that has nothing to do with the cooler, just thought id mention that.for noise reference, I have a Rosewill thor v2 case with three 200+ mm fans and i can definitely hear the this cooler over everything else.bottom line, great cooler, kind of loud but if you dont mind that or dont mind changing the fans you're good to go.

I picked this up to go with my HAF-932 Case, the style of the cooler matches the case perfectly. Installation was not as complicated as others have written about either on here or elsewhere. Install took me all of 15 minutes, and I didn't even have to remove my motherboard.Power for the LED is supplied via a Molex connector, both fans plug into a "Y" adapter to plug into the PWM as a single cable. One thing that would be wanted here is maybe some labeling or markings on the fans so you know which one is which. Although When I pulled the fans off for the first time I stuck a sticky note to each one with its direction and orientation written down.Alright, here is the REAL information that you guys want.Right now I am running a Q6600 Intel Core2Quad stock speed at 2.4ghz, with everything set to stock my idle temps are around 20-25 C. Full load- 30-40 c.I went ahead and stepped my CPU up about 10% (2.4ghz->3.0Ghz) Idle temps changed to 24-35 and full load was about 45-55. Compared to the $20 cooler I had in there previously (idle 35-40, load 50-70-freeze) This is a MAJOR improvement, there may be a newer model of this out now, but I love this cooler. Aside from the fact that it looks pretty radical, it has a decent heft and weight. Do not be worried about your motherboard or the fact that you are hanging a massive box off your cpu slot as the mounting hardware keeps everything distributed and even. The parts supplied will fit a rather large range of CPU sockets from AMD to Intel (775 and up). I am glad I got this heatsink as I will be moving it up to when I upgrade my motherboard/cpu again here soon.In my honest review I would give this product a 9/10Pros:Epic coolingGreat lookingdual fans/better airflowInstantly noticeable temperature differences.Cons:Instruction book is for lack of a better term "friggin retarded"Wish there was marking on the fans indicating direction of airflowOnly 3 LED color choices. (red, blue, Purple)Included in this review is an image of the heat sink installed and ready to go!(Ignore the messy cableness, my cable management sleeving is coming in Friday xD)[...]Well thats my review, should you buy this? If you are looking for advanced air cooling and frigid temps then I give a full fledged hell yes!
