I bought this for two reasons. One, as an appropriate air cooler to overclock my AMD FX8350 to a modest 4.5GHz, and two, to pair with two of Noctua's awesome 140mm 3000RPM Industrial PPC fans in an endeavor to get close-to-or-better-than-liquid-coolingI've never even used it with the stock fans. On receiving it, I immediately stuck on two of the most powerful fans in existence. This replaced a CoolerMaster Hyper 212Evo with two 120mm Corsair high static pressure fans. A great cooler for the 8350, and I believe sufficient for a non-overclocked build, or maybe a slight over clock, but I wanted more. I wanted a large thermal margin without the added complexity of a liquid cooled build. I wanted to overclock and the 8350 is a notoriously hot chip.So I began my overclock and slowly stepped up to where my chip just couldn't take it anymore, I got it up to around 1.53 volts before I really got nervous and backed off. But my limitation wasn't the cooler, my max voltage for this chip is 1.55 so I got close to that...Even at 1.53 volts with Prime95 running all 8 cores to the max (and instantly erroring out at 4.7GHz due to my likely bum chip) the temps really never stabilized over 47C. It might have gotten up to ~55C when it was starting up but as it ran and ran, the fans figured out what they wanted to do and it really never got above 47C. Great cooler. After stepping down my overclock a bit back to 4.5 @ 1.4ish volts (told you, bum chip...) I'm running very cool under full load and I'm happy I bought this.In the case, it looks absolutely massive. It does clear my RAM but I am at more or less normal height for the RAM. I could give it maybe another half centimeter of height but if you're putting any crazy RAM in there, you may want the Universal model as that is supposedly designed to fit better.I also see how some of the heatsinks around the socket could interfere. But, for me, on a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P, It does fit.Installation was harder than it should have been, I needed a friend's help, and even then it took us quite a while to complete, but afterwards, I had an AWESOME looking motherboard and a great cooler.

Replaced my dying H100i GTX. My temps would be 35-40 one day then almost max for a week, so pump was probably going out.. Went from 85+ idle to 40-45 idle, 65 under load on an overclocked 3930k. This is with AS5. It was a bit hard to install on my board, it appears the bracket didnt quite come up enough for the cooler to mount to so I had to use some ingenuity, but once mounted it's solid and cools great. The room isn't particularly cool either, so ambient temps aren't great. I have some IC diamond and a few more case fans to install which should bring my temps down even lower, I'm hoping to hit 35. This is my first Cryo cooler, and will definitely not be my last. Great cooling, great price, sharp looking and pretty quiet while still performing. Would recommend.

This is a big, big cooler. I didn't anticipate it being so tall. I had to ditch my 200mm fan to make room for this beast. I haven't overclocked my new i5-6600k yet because I'm giving the Arctic Silver 5 time to do its thing, but so far it keeps the CPU around 50C in my CM HAF XB Evo running prime. It looks freaking AWESOME! The only thing that would make it better would be if they sold it with the colored fan mount/noise dampeners or whatever they are called. The one and only complaint, the thing that took a star, is the fact that the heatsink is not smooth. It looks to be flat, but there is a very fine machining texture on the mounting surface. Nothing too bad, but if you rub it with tissue, it's rough enough to shred the tissue. I do plan to hit it with some fine sandpaper and lapping compound one of these days when I decide to push the clocks and need better cooling.Otherwise, mounting was easy, the included screwdriver is sweet (black "L" shaped with Cryorig logo), quality is great minus the minor texture on the mounting surface, very quite, very effective. It does get beat out in some of the reviews by the Noctua, but I'd bet if the surface was properly prepped, it would be the other way around.

Honestly an amazing cooler & extremely easy installation. Note for AM4 users, you can just use your backplate from the stock cooler instead of buying the one from Cryorig. Running an R5 2600 @ 4.1 GHz, I sit in the high 40's to low 50's when gaming (using an IC graphite pad instead of paste). Also, it is far easier to install outside of the case, so remove your motherboard (unless you want to be stubborn). Also, if you remove the middle fan mounting is even easier. Without headphones it is really quiet in my Evolv X, barely even notice it running. And I have gotten a few complements on how nice it looks once mounted.Do make sure to make use of the Cryorig compatibility print they have to ensure your memory has clearance. It's a really tight fit with Ballistix Sport LT memory, so a lot of G.Skill Ripjaws & similar large heatspreaders won't fit.
