Excellent build quality, it does not feel flimsy like some heatsinks. The design works perfectly for my build since it does not come near the RAM. I am using this in an mATX build and case, so space is an issue. The Phanteks cooler is so narrow that I am able to fit everything without issues, and it works flawlessly. The stock Phanteks fan is a solid design, so I do not feel the need to change it out for a different brand. I do use Noctua for my case fans, and the stock fan is just as quiet. My case sits on my desk about 18 inches away from me, but it is perfectly silent. I have the fan profile running on low RPM`s and the idle temps are approximately 34C at the slowest/lowest settings. If I raised the speed I could keep temps around 28C, but I like the silence. If your need narrow, but have the height in your case to fit this cooler, then it is a must-buy. Check your cases clearance, verify the coolers height, then buy it. Buy it!

This heat sink claims to solve installation interference issues due to its “slim form factor and can support up to three fans according to the errata. This may not be possible under the following conditions.1. Your motherboard is a high end component with a massive rear voltage regulator heat sink. This might work when using a 140mm fan but seemed to be too close for comfort during a test mount of the included fan instead requiring each of two fans (140mm) to be mounted off-center which is possible but may impact the overall clearance between the side panel and the fan. On the full size chassis pictured this is a non-issue.2. You want three 140’s but your system incorporates ram modules with tall heat sinks. In this case a 140mm will fit, only if the fan is clipped on far off-center. Not really a viable option. How it Works with a Triple Fan Setup-Buy two same brand 120mm PWM units, and a triple head PWM fan splitter or two header splitter if your Motherboard already has two discrete CPU PWM fan Headers. In this case, one of the two fan headers will need to split, which may more may not agree with your BIOS fan support features and vanity ram features like lighting will be partially obscured. The unit comes with two additional spring wires and small anchor clips which mount to the additional fans in the same manner as the supplied 140mm PWM fan. A problem exists here for a tri-fan setup since the extra clips (4) will only accommodate a second fan, not a third.Install each of two 120mm fans to either side of the twin heat-sink tower risers, leaving the 140mm in the center default position. Optionally it may be possible to run two 140mm units centered over the cooling towers if your ram is very low profile.Easy Installation Tips-The instructions are explicit but may seem counterintuitive. This abridged version differs from the printed instructions and is as follows for AMD based systems installed in chassis with back plate access. The unit delivers with a full tube of thermal compound, high quality screws, additional fan mount accessories and two installation kits for Intel or AMD based systems.a.) For AMD systems the stock back plate is required, however by removing only one set of screws at a time from each motherboard fan mount block (one of two) then removing that item and installing the heat sinks metal anchor components (2) and spacers, the new bracket can be mounted quickly and avoids the back plate falling off during the process.b.) Instead of applying the heat sink thermal compound to the CPU face, apply it according to directions to the heat sinks mating face.c.) Finally, you can now press the retaining screws down until they catch the threads on the mount brackets.Overall it does a great job but the triple fan setup claim requires some extraordinary considerations as illustrated. Like zip ties and magic for the third member.

UPDATE (10/17): Wow!! Great customer service along with a fantastic product! I'm still amazed by the performance of this thing, even months later, no regrets. But I decided to order another 140mm fan for this cooler, just because I can. It arrived, and I realized I could not find the box for the cooler, which contained the extra clip to mount the fan.So I contacted Phanteks customer service, when I couldn't find the clip anywhere for purchase, hoping they could point me in the right direction. But they did me one better: They're shipping me out a clip, no charge!! Thank you, Phanteks!!***********I ordered this for a new computer build, and it is absolutely amazing. While acknowledging that water cooling is the best way to go for the lowest temps, I have to believe this is the next best thing. My CPU stays remarkably cool, even under heavy load. I don't think I've ever seen it run higher than around 42c - again, under load. When idle? CPU temps will often drop into the teens, no joke. There's something amazing about your CPU being well under 70 degrees Fahrenheit, when the room the PC is in is nowhere near that cold!

This is the slickest cooler I have ever purchased. Its slim form, good looks and perfect performance are not at all absent. My CPU is nice and relaxed at 34c. Its quiet and when paired with a good light set up looks badass! The quality is great and is surprisingly tough! Nothing beats this for the price.
