Pros:- Fits AM3+ processors- very quiet; very low hum, even at max load- keeps my AMD FX-8150 CPU temp below 55°C- includes good thermal paste- can add another fan.Cons:- runs at max voltage; does not adjust with CPU needs, I think this is called PWM.Insight:Overall, I am impressed with the initial results. Getting the heatsink on was a little tough. It is so quiet, I had the stock fan before, which was load enough to be heard around our 2k sqft house. This fan can barely be heard from 10 ft away.

Mounting hardware is crap. Cools excellent.Had to use screws and bottlecaps to mount....(for intel, works perfect on amd)

I bought this as a replacement for the stock cooler on a Dell xps 435t. It has a Intel i7-920 processor that nearly melted itself when the plastic housing on the factory cooler broke. I run the machine as a hackintosh and have kept track of the temperature numbers all along.Factory Cooler: Idle = 58c-61c (136f-142f) Load = 79c-82c (160f-183f)Silenex Cooler: Idle = 48c-52c (118f-126f) Load = 71c-75c (156f-167f)The fan noise under load went from a jet plane taking off to a low humming. I don't even hear it when it's at idle under my desk.Installation was NOT EASY for me. My motherboard had a bracket behind the board that I had to remove before the rubber mounts that came in the box could be used. Yes, I had to remove the Mothoer board and everything attached to it from the case before I could install the cooler. Other than that it went flawlessly and I am pleased with its performance. I only wish I had made the purchase sooner.
