Spent a premium to get this board because I wanted to use the Fractal Define Mini C case. My rig is strictly work and gaming so wanted to avoid having a large desktop case but needed the horsepower to do the work. This being the only MATX threadripper board I decided to purchase this product. So far the only criticism that I have is the location of the ram and heat spreader in relation to the cases airflow restricts cooling of the Evercool waterblock. In doing so I have warmer operating temperatures but its manageable with some strategic fan placements. Also, with continued support it updates bios to accommodate the Treadripper 2 line of cpus which ensures future upgrades without having to overhaul the build. Highly recommend this product for people who want to build small without losing horsepower for work.

Large feature set on small MATX form factor board:Three full speed 3.0 x16 PCI-Express slots, three Ultra Speed M.2 ports, four DDR4 slots, Dual GB LAN, BT and built-in Wi-Fi, 7.1 audio and ten USB 3.1 ports on the rear I/O panel.Even better... without even touching or updating the BIOS it's 100% stable right out of the box with Gen 2 Threadripper CPU's.FWIW- the onboard CPU temps seen in the BIOS are way off (a known issue on X399 motherboards). Install the ASRock A-Tuning utility to see the true temps in Windows. Install it in a full ATX case for even better airflow/cooling!Oddly, if you're interested.. there are legacy Win7 64bit drivers for this board on the ASRock support site?ASRock X399M Taichi Motherboard... a winner!

I’m that unfortunate soul that got everything put together and then tried to turn it on and it didn’t work. Damn. Contacted Amazon, they connected me to a ASRock, I ASRock said because the Dr. D bug LED did not function that that was a sure sign that it was a dead board. Now I get to undo everything dammit.

I think Asrock did a pretty good job with this motherboard. The motherboard has a clean design with not many flashing leds on it. Paired nicely with my silver/black theme. Lots of M.2 slots for future storage upgrade. Easily overclocked my 1950X to 4ghz.I had some compatibility issues with the DDR4 RAM from my old computer so it was unfortunate that I had to switch that out. I forgot to check for compatibility on their website so kinda my fault. I did have an issue with turning on Fast Boot in the bios where my NVME SSD stopped showing up. Hopefully a future bios update will fix that.
