ASUS Prime Z490M-PLUS LGA 1200 (Intel 10th Gen) Z490 Micro ATX Motherboard (Dual M.2, DDR4 4600, 1 Gb Ethernet, USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB Type-A, Thunderbolt 3 Support, Aura Sync RGB)

ASUS motherboards have proven over time to be of quality and long lasting motherboard. Typically I shoot a little higher on the model number to accommodate higher hardware levels and availability of ports. This quality carries over into their displays as well. This is the first Micro ATX board purchased and it delivers all the features looked for when choosing a motherboard. Installation of hardware is easy and installed easily into a mini-tower Corsair case. I typically turn off any motherboard lighting since it tends to be annoying but that's just preference. Installed in this motherboard is an intel i7 10th generation, 32GB , Blu Ray drive. It has 6 USB ports (1 usb-c) and 1 type a, 2-2.0 and 2-3.0. The corsair case has two additional ports on the front and I added a USB hub. I can never seem to have enough USB ports. The motherboard had been solid and is the third ASUS board purchased over 5-7 years now. The price is about expected for a motherboard at this level.

Got this motherboard on recommendation for my Win/Mac build. As expected based on the recommendation it works great in both windows and Mac. The bios set up is reasonable and allows for nice control on my dual hard drive (NVM E) set up. I haven’t encountered any problems with either side of my build that are related to the motherboard at least. There are plenty of fan headers on this. I did have some issues with an RGB CPU cooler not being recognized by the RGB system native to the motherboard even though the fan cooler said that it should be. The fan cooler was a course air product. I don’t know. I’m guessing I should’ve just spent a little bit more and gotten a better RGB CPU fan or just not bothered with RGB on the CPU at all.All in all, build quality and options for this board seem to be excellent. I have a Intel i5-10400 CPU running on it which seems to be quite sufficient for my needs. I use this motherboard on the window side for basic computing and some very light gaming. It has no problems doing either of these things just fine.

Nice setup and it will update the BIOS for you if needed. Gives me control of all the necessary things I need and even has a few RGB connections. Plenty of fan connectors. First time with ASUS motherboard as I usually build with MSI but pretty happy with the quality of this board and it's ease of use.

I purchased this as part of a build for a client and am very impressed overall. I typically only Build with ASUS motherboards. This particular board lived up to the standards I am used to with that brand. One of the things I was impressed with was how many fan headers this particular board had. Mini micro ATX boards don’t have many fan headers at all. If I had one wish on this board it would’ve been a thermal cover for the SSD. That being said, I believe that is available in higher in boards, but those were not in stock when I purchased this product, nor were they at the same price point.
