Having used a selection of Ryzen motherboards now (Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3, Biostar M-ITX, MSI Xpower), this ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero Wifi is my favorite of the bunch. Currently using a Ryzen 7 1800X and 32GB (4x8gb) of Ballistix Elite DDR4 rated at 3466, and the ram kit booted straight away at 3200mhz, beating all the other motherboards I've tested it on. I have no doubt that I'll be able to get the rated speed after a bit of tinkering. On to the board itself:Aesthetics: 10/10Can't say enough good things about this board. Will work well stylewise with the majority of other hardware and accessories on the market, understated RGB accents, the industrial/gaming style that ROG is famous for, metal PCI-E slot support (only wish is that the ddr4 slots also had this feature).Features: 10/10Fully-featured, well laid out BIOS; tonnes of depth for the overclockers out there while still being easy to use on the normal mode for those who just want to plug-and-play their PC. Lots of fan headers, extra headers for pumps/AIO, and the most USB ports of any board on the market. Onboard AC wifi, tops out at 866mbps and has a great antenna (far better reception than the PCI-E based AC wifi card that I was using with my other boards).Ease of use: 10/10Easiest setup of all the boards I've used, booted first time without having to tinker with bios settings. Conclusion:If you're looking for a high-end Ryzen motherboard, you can stop searching now. This board has everything you'll need, and it has the usual ASUS ROG 3-year warranty backing it up.“I am writing this review to enter into the "Join The Republic- Your Path to Legendary Continues" Campaign

Looked great and was easy to work on. I've had mine for over a year. The wifi works well when the ethernet cable doesn't work. I don't have the router in my room and sometimes people unplug the ethernet that's running through the house and the wifi kicks in. I don't get the 450mb/s I do with ethernet, but the wifi is fast enough for simple web browsing. It's super easy to overclock on it as well even for a beginner like me. It has oc profiles that simplify everything or you can go at it manually. I personally just chose the gamer profile which OC'd my Ryzen 7 1800x to 3.85. I couldn't get a stable 4.0 regardless of me trying it manually or using the profile, but I've heard this happens sometimes so I let it go. It works fine and has great performance. Looks good along with my sli 1080ti's. Overall great motherboard and great experience, the board deserves a better rating than what it has on here.

Used this to build a 1600X based system and it seems to be pretty decent. Updated to latest BIOS available (3008 IIRC) and attempted to use Patriot Viper 3400MHz DDR4 at 3200MHz (so I could tighten up the timings a little) but can only reliably get 2933MHz. That costs the board a star.I'm not fond of the BIOS terminology either but I managed to get through it enough to do a light overclock from 3.6GHz to 4.1GHz, and I know for a fact (due to an incident where I fat-fingered the multiplier) that the system will boot up into Windows 10 Pro at 4.3GHz at 1.43v and complete passmark so it seems I got a nice chip.System is in a Thermaltake Core W200 case (holds 2 computers in 1 case) so cable management is not the greatest in the pics but here are some...

I can't believe it. I don't write a review but this one really drives me crazy. The m/b has been around for more than 1 year. I tried updating with the help of the ASUS rep. He told me to use the EZ flash 3 to update the bios but he didn't tell me to rename the CAP file. I did what he told and the bios hanged when I click yes to continue ''reading the file from the flash drive''. I had a ''clear CMOS'' button on the rear port but the rep told me to remove the power pins for the m/b and CPU power pins and the battery to reset the bios. In order to do that, I had to remove the GPU as well because the battery sits under the GPU. While I was doing it, he terminated the chat saying I was away. Then I contacted another rep from ASUS again, hoping someone else will give me a piece of good advice. This time I used the BIOS flashback at the rear of the pc but the m/b still cannot read the file. The light blinked a few times and it stayed lighted after that, meaning it is not working.Next, he told me to try using the EZ Flash 3 again. I told him that I did that the first time and the system hanged. He insisted it won't. So we tried again and oh well, it hanged again. I asked him what to do next and waited 15mins before I got an instruction.I asked whether I can use the internet to download since the EZ flash 3 had the option but he refused to answer me. I tried to do it myself but it couldn't connect to the internet stating that there was no connection. I asked him how to get the EZ flash connects to the internet and there was silence again.I asked him how to get the system to read my ram speed at 3200 when it is now reading at 2193mhz and there was silence again. I asked how to locate the XMP as I couldn't find it and it was falling to deaf ears.Worst, the chatting time was like talking to someone from outer space. It took more than an hour to ask questions and the reply was like a delayed reply or no reply at all. Finally, he told me I had to send the m/b back for servicing and updating the bios.I can't imagine I have to dismantle everything all over again. At a loss, I started playing around the ASUS utility website and found that there is a program known as EZ Update. I downloaded the utility and updated the BIOS straight from my harddisk and viola! It read the file and updated my BIOS to the latest version. The whole procedures took less than 10 mins.I don't know why the support reps didn't teach me that but I do know that the support reps aren't competent enough to advise people what to do especially after speaking to 4 support reps regarding the same issue. They kept telling me to do the same steps even I told them I tried and it didn't work.ASUS makes great m/b but I doubt they make great support team.
