It a good board and easily to install. The bios was also easy. But if you have never do a build remember to get the update on a flash drive first if you are able. If not you are able to update later. The other thing I want to explain when you are asked what are you intentions for the board please don't pick gaming because the drivers are broken. I have had to uninstall and reinstall twice now because the screen will freeze randomly, and the games don't like the amd gaming drivers, after hours of research I found the cause (gaming drivers). So, I am hoping to save you time and headache. One other thing I want to mention. I have the Sapphire nitro rx 5700 xt and on the amd radeon app you have to go to the tuning and click Manual than enable fan tuning than disabled the zero rpm and click apply changes to get the fans to run on the graphics card. Other than those to easie fixes the motherboard is good. I have the Kraken x53 and AMD Ryzen 7 3800x 8-core processor. And 970 eco plus ssd card and oloy 16gb and crucial ballistix 16 gb. You have to make sure that if you mix memory card that it that same type it can be different brands. GameMax 850 power supply. And Corsair ¡cue 220T case . So I hope that this helps the next person. Which I got everything off Amazon. So I hope this helps out the next person you is looking for their next build.

The B550-E was an upgrade from the B450-F I had before. It was a simple drop-in replacement and just worked flawlessly with my Ryzen 7 3800X. The board had no issues getting the CPU to 4.5 GHz on all cores, voltage at 1.35v on the core. I was original going to purchase a competing board because it was cheaper and had the same overall feel and aesthetics but I was already well verse in the ASUS BIOS that really made it simpler just for me to purchase this over the competition. The M.2 heat sinks have a thermal pad already preapplied and all you need to do is take the small plastic sheet off and install your drive. I dare say that the all-black board is a very slick design, pared with a NH-D15 chromax.Black edition, it's just beautiful. Some constructive criticism: I rated the value for money at 4 stars but not because it is a bad board, but because of the choice to include a dedicated USB Type-C port for the rear I/O specifically tailored to audio. I would have preferred to see more USB 3.2 ports in the back or additional 2.0/3.0 ports. I feel the price of $270 + California tax is not too much when you take into account that this B550 chipset motherboard has the same feature set of X570 motherboards at a fraction of the cost without sacrificing too much or adding too much cost. ASUS have done themselves in with one and still provided a motherboard with excellent support and potential. We don't have money to spend all over to upgrade to the latest and greatest chipset but with this board I can still hope to achieve 5th gen Ryzen and even 6th gen or further without having to purchase a new board immediately.ASUS is a company I've been purchasing products from since 2014, with the release of their ROG G751JL gaming laptop. ASUS has never done me wrong and back in 2017 when I had accidentally destroyed my laptop when working on it internally (fried the south bridge, literally) I had contacted their support and genuinely asked if they could repair/replace the motherboard. I did not mind paying for the repairs at all being that the laptop was out of warranty and it was my fault in the first place. But despite the laptop being out of production for a little over a year and half (or even more) they still took it in and re-manufactured the part for me without charging me the same cost for the laptop. Now I won't guarantee that ASUS will continue doing this, but it is the first company I've done business with whom genuinely did offer to help repair a laptop that they themselves did not even service/warranty/produce anymore at the time and it has kept me a returning loyal customer from that generosity.

This motherboard sets itself apart from other motherboards. It is like the difference between a Ford Pinto and a Lincoln...this board being the Lincoln! Easy setup and very easy to navigate the menus. Everything was easy to find. I didn't make a lot of changes but it was easy finding the ones I did change. No I/O shield to mess with. I installed a Ryzen 7 3700X along with 16gb ram and a Radeon RX580 and windows 11. I am not a gamer, but this setup works perfect FOR ME to edit photographs. A little pricey but hey, you're buying a Lincoln!

This motherboard is awesome. It has everything I wanted in a motherboard and looks great too. At the time of writing, a BIOS update was needed to be able to get my Ryzen 7 5800x running. The BIOS update process was very simple and all was needed was a USB drive that plugs into the specific USB slot on the back (this slot is dedicated to BIOS updates and is not to be used for peripherals from what ASUS told me) the lack of addition usb 3.2 gen ports was a compromise I was willing to make since it has a 3.2 gen 2 type C plug on the board for my cases front type C port (the Phanteks P600S). If You really do need additional high speed USB slots a PCIE adapter would do the job. For me though, all I have to plug in is a mouse and keyboard so the usb 2.0 slots on the back do just fine. The Audio ports on the back also appear have their own dedicated grounds and my headset, the Sennheiser PC37X, has no audio interference like I had previously experienced on the gigabyte Z370P D3. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this board and would recommend it to anyone looking at this as a potential option.
