I figured my budget was not in the $400 range as it was when I put my wife's X299 rig together. Came across this gem for $150 ( dec 2018). Looked very well appointed. I looked up the Installation guide on EVGA's site, and...whoa...a 150 page masterpiece, all in English! And with dual onboard LAN inputs. EATX form factor, so definitely consider that, but ...what a kick A** board for $150. Thought it was a Matx or ITX size at first. Fully featured, has been running perfectly with a skylake-x 10 core proc ( it supports 44 lane procs!). Seriously, this is a standout value! So, go ahead and spend more if you like ( I did about 18 months ago), but you can put those dollars you save to better use...like an additional M.2- NVME.... You cant say no one told you about this X299 mombo buy!

The package arrived quickly with most or all of the accessories i could expect on a used middle/high end workstation board like this. The board comes equipped with dual BIOS, one of which was not properly booting out of the box. Resetting the BIOS with a small button on the IO face of the motherboard solved it.A strong motherboard with actively cooled vrm and power delivery, it including a handful of enthusiast features makes this feel like a steal at any price lower than the msrp.

This board ran great, very fast, very economical.... But It has a problem that I could not deal with... The board has 6 slots (4x PCI-E x16 slot 2x16, 2x8*, 1x PCI-E x4 slot, 1x PCI-E x1 slot). The slots number top to bottom. The video card goes in slot 2 (Double Slot). If you have slots 2, 3, & 5 installed, it works great... When you install a card in either slot 1 or 2 the motherboard will only power up, turn the fans on, then turn off. Contacted EVGA and after great hassle of taking pictures of the processor socket they replaced the motherboard 3 times and where all the problems were similar in nature, they all acted differently, For the first board they charge me a collateral fee of $349 which they return when the motherboard arrives.... However, they return ship via Slow Boat from China. I shipped them the board on June the 3rd and it is scheduled to arrive to them on the 22nd and then they say 3 to 5 days for refund... They did not tell me they were going to ship it back that way or it would take this long, so now they are making money off of me before they send it back.As a quick overview... It would have been a Great Board if all the slots had worked as advertised. As it stands, I will probably never buy another EVGA product... Not Ever! Support is a real issue as well.** Further Follow Up.... After the first board arrived (5 Days ago) I contacted them for the refund of the Required Collateral... It was only checked in today and may take up to 10 days to refund... UGH.. What Crooks. Buyer Beware of EVGA Products! You either get a Good one or a Very Bad one! Support is pretty bad, Customer Service at EVGA is non-existent. If you call them, you have to leave a message and then they call you back the next day (Hopefully). **

I bought this to use with an intel i9-10920X, Cascade Lake, CPU. The board is a couple years old, but with an updated bios and everything seems to work just fine. One note on installation, the RGB covers have screws that go in from the back, so put them on before you mount it in the case. The graphical bios is good, as is the overclock utility. I had it do a "simple" overclock, all 12 cores running stable at 4.6 GHz. The price is excellent as well!I'm not sure why Amazon is asking me about the Warmth, thickness and sheerness of a motherboard, but meh :)
