UPDATE 12/31/2023: I've been having BSOD problems for months now. I finally made the time to figure it out and have discovered that 3 of the 4 DIMM slots are not functioning correctly. The pins inside the slot don't grab as tightly as the first slot. I can only use 1 stick of ram with this board now. Contacted Gigabyte to see if they can address this, waiting on the reply.ORIGINAL REVIEW:As I write this the 5600X is not out yet so I haven't been able to get my build running, but I thought I'd mention how easy it is to flash the bios even without a CPU or RAM installed. This is how to make the board support the new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs. Simply download the bios and unzip the files then rename the B550MAP.11d file from the zip to GIGABYTE.bin. It must be named GIGABYTE.bin otherwise Qflash Plus will not know what file to use. Next copy GIGABYTE.bin to the FAT32 formatted USB stick (it must be FAT32 not NTFS) and the file must be located in the root directory (for example D:\GIGABYTE.bin not D:\Bios\GIGABYTE.bin). Plug the USB stick into the white USB port on the back of the motherboard. Check to make sure the PSU switch is off (the O is off the -- is on) then plug the PSU into the motherboard 24pin and 8pin and switch the power supply on --. Press the little Qflash button on the back of the motherboard and an orange light will start to flash to indicate it is in the process of flashing. After about 8 minutes the light will stop flashing and the process will be complete.DO NOT TURN THE POWER OFF OR UNPLUG THE USB TILL IT STOPS FLASHING - that will likely cause the board to need a RMA. If you have a UPS it's good insurance to plug the PSU into it while doing this. If you press the Qflash button and the orange light does not start to blink then the process has not started. I discovered one of my USB 3.0 sticks doesn't seem to work with Qflash Plus, so if it doesn't start to blink then try another stick but remember it has to be FAT32 formatted.I will update this review once I get my CPU and will try some memory overclocking using 32GB (16x2) 3600 CL16 G.Skill Hynix C/DJR chips.I never bothered with overclocking outside of AMD's own PBO and DOCP. I did however have some success with Clocktuner for Ryzen to lower the power consumption with a slight boost in performance.

EDIT: about 1 month later and still working great. my aio cooler happened to die literally days after using this system and overheated my cpu but everything is still okay and none of it as far as i can tell was the motherboards fault! i have used the RGBfusion features now (which suck for customization) but realized the orange light on the board is controllable through RGBfusions app. planning to put an nvme in it but havent yet so will update later on that. bios is okay but miles better than my old gigabyte board. would def recommend this productOnly 4 stars because its only been used for an hour and havent messed with anything much yet! RYZEN 5 3600x worked out of box and wasnt too worried either way with the q flash feature. Bios is far better than my old gigabyte fm2+ board, pc running much faster after upgrading from athlon x4 860k and 1800 Mhz 16Gb ram. Current specs are this and the ryzen with crucial 3200Mhz 16Gb kit, would suggest more than 16 tbh as i did end up running out of memory while having chrome, discord, modded minecraft, and cpuz open. So far so good though other than my ram running out. Also for anyone that was curious as i was, fm2/fm2+ coolers seem to work on this board for sure as i switched over my corsair h60 aio

Worked perfect out of the box with no driver issues or anything. Plenty of rear USB ports and a sleek black design with minimal lighting. Great motherboard and would recommend to anyone looking for MATX. Another cool feature for this board is you can set fan curves based on PCIEX16 slot (GPU) and that is great news as my new build involves a deshrouded card. Very happy and hope it keeps working flawless for many years to come
