I admit I have a need for speed when it comes to computer processors. Probably because I started out with an Intel Celeron processor. It did not take me long to realize that I needed something with a little more processing power without a huge price tag, and a large demand for power. Hence I did some research and found that the Intel Core i5-6600 Skylake Quad-Core 3.3 GHz Desktop Processor was a very affordable, low wattage, stable, high performance processor especially when coupled with a good video card. My wife has loved the way the computer moves from screen to screen, and the way it moves from application to application. Really happy with the i5, the video card, and the computer in general. All of the parts were purchased from Amazon and assembled by a top notch technician.

Let's face it; this CPU in almost every PC build you see. More or less because its great, it produces great numbers, and it gets the job done.If you plan on overclocking the CPU to get even more performance, I recommend getting a better CPU cooler than the stock one because of how much heat the CPU will cause. Other than that, I can recommend this to anyone, even non gamers that just want better multi-tasking power in their computer, I suggest switching your old CPU for this one.-- CPU temperature while idle: 54 - 61 °F (12 - 16 °C)-- CPU temperature under load: 110 - 118 °F (43 - 47 °C)Parts I used in this review:- GPU: 'EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB FTW GAMING, Silent Cooling Graphics Card 02G-P4-2958-KR'- Motherboard: 'ASUS LGA1151 DDR3 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 B150 MicroATX Motherboards B150M-A D3'- RAM: 'Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM - Black (HX318C10FBK2/8)'Things to know:- The box includes the CPU, stock CPU cooler and a manual.- The CPU was not overclocked during this review.

Great Chip, runs super cool, and provides all the power needed for most home systems.Yet part of the value of the non k chip is getting a free CPU cooler. Of course, if the cheap fan included turns out to be noisy, and, in my experience, all too often does, then it’s not quite such a good deal. After only a few days, the fan in my system started to make noise, and no amount of playing with fan speed setting made any difference. I was about to replace the cooler with my favorite Noctua, but happened to have a Low-Noise Adaptor that comes free with the Noctua NF-F12 PWM Cooling Fan I bought for a different system, and decided to try that first. It worked, and it’s now dead silent again, and otherwise working perfectly.
