Installed into supermicro ITX motherboard. Fast and capable and does it all without getting super hot.Daily driver usage running RedHat 9, keeps up just fine

Good value for money as a second-hand product. Cleaned and repacked professionally by the seller. Seems just as fast as the i7 6th series it replaced

This has been a trip but I am using this since I do not trust the newer generations of CPUs.I chose 8th gen versus 10/11/12th generation since I am trying (Actually Doing Now) dual booting Windows 7 & 10.Just remember that you NEED a compatible MOBO if your going to be doing that. Also remember that Microsoft and Intel are trying to STOP PEOPLE FROM USING OLDER OPERATING SYSTEMS, actually putting impedences in the CPUs to not run those operating systems anymore.Intel i5-8500 is stable, great speed and base clock at 3 GHz ramps up to 3.99 GHz without tweaking any profiles. My Setup:MSI MAG B365M MORTARIntel i5-8500MSI Geforce GTX 1050ti(2x) WD Blue HDD 1TB**All I want to do is use photoshop and emulate PS2 games. Does the latter perfectly fine, and yet do the former but no doubt will run like butter. Shadow of the Colossus and Gran Turismo 3 run at 60fps at 720p with only 30% usage of CPU and GPU, max spike 60%. At 1080p 38-52% CPU and 50% GPU usage, max spike 70% for both CPU/GPU.**

I love this little processor. I bought it in a machine that I use for mostly web browsing and playing games. It is a champ. They have also made these a lot easier to install than what I remember by getting rid of the pins. With the six cores, I felt it wasn’t worth the cost of going to an i7 and have not been disappointed.
