I already had a MSI Z370 board, and I had the opportunity to sell my i7 8700k a few weeks ago- so I was waiting on this CPU. With additional proceeds I got from selling a few other older components (SB sound card, and extra Hyper 212 cooler), this processor ended up costing me only about $25. Very happy with it so far, but I haven't really pushed it hard with OC'ing. Strangely it seems to be running just a little cooler, and is using a tad less voltage with the exact same set-up as I had with my i7 8700k. I'm using a Corsair H115i and idle in the mid/low 20s (C). Right now it's 25-26C across all 6 cores. My ambient is pretty cool, usually about 22-23C so these temps are fine. Gaming is staying in the low 50s C which is just about the same as the i7 8700k was.Look I know this is just a i7 8700k in a Limited Edition box, with a new name, and maybe a little cherry picking/binning from Intel, but I'm old enough to remember those original 8086 procs, even if I was just a kid. I like the nostalgic aspect to this proc, so I'm very pleased with this purchase. Plus it's pretty much the best gaming processor money can buy. I know there are going to be plenty of haters and AMD fanboys telling me how stupid it was to get this proc, but that makes me love it all the more. Great Proc Intel! Next week I'm going to see how well it does going over 5GHz. Here it's at 5.0GHz on all 6 cores.Maybe it'll be worth some $ someday since it is a limited run.

Coming from an i7 2600K overclocked at 4.5GHz, I expected only a mild increase in speed. That 8086K to me feels about 50% faster then my older overclocked system. Everything is fast and responsive as it should be and I have lots of overclocking headroom. The nicest thing for me is the CPU temp, which went from around 60 degrees when idle to now 37 degrees at idle and a mere 50 under full load, and my CPU fan speed is still not maxed out. Planning on overclocking to 5GHz on all cores soon, and eventually more. For this purpose I'm glad I have a 8086K and not a 8700K. Intel's binning process guarantees that 8086K will run at minimum 5GHz on all 6 cores.

I waited a while to replace my old i7 processor (1st gen) I almost bought the 8700k but glad I waited. I ordered this 8086k as soon as it was announced. I have an Aorus Gaming 5 motherboard with Corsair !6Gb RAM, Corsair Hydra H75 water cooler. I have a 8Gb RX480 Nitro video card. I’m not a gamer, I’m a photographer so Lightroom and Photoshop performance is my concern. Let me tell you it’s fantastic. Imports, previews, exports are lightning fast. Best choice for me by far. I obtain 5Ghz without any effort at all and stays a cool 29-34 degrees Celsius.

Intel 8th generation core processor. Fun piece of tech here, most likely requires an upgrade on the motherboard if you are not already rocking a motherboard compatible with the 8th generation intel.Pros:-Speed (without overclocking, clocks in at 4 GHz for each processor)-Multitasking (perfect if performing multiple tasks on a screen, no noticeable slowdown)-Brand new (don't have to worry about counterfeits)Negatives:-OS Software dictates a lot of what a CPU does and 8 threads isn't mainstream yet, tweaking is required to fully utilize.
