This review is for the G.SKILL 32GB (2 x 16GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-28800 3600MHz.I read the reviews and even thou they were mostly negative, I decided to get it because of the return policy.First, My setup: am4 gigabite x470 with 1700x. I was only able to get ram running at the lower speeds. XMP would not boot. I had to use the AMD ram calculator to get things to boot at 3200MHZ. THIS RAM IS NOT SUPPORTED BY MY MOTHERBOARD. (my mistake) I still got it running but my CINABENCH scores took a hit compared to my old 16gb kit.2nd setup: Same motherboard but 3700x cpu. XMP worked right out of the box 3600mhz. I used the AMD ram calculator, punched in my timing numbers and now running 3800mhz.Despite all the reviews, here are my thoughtsRam is a hit or miss when it comes to "Right out of the box" XMP settings. There is a lot of variables. If you want a "plug & play" experience, make sure the ram is supported by your motherboard & the cpu you are using. If you are buying the ram (like me) because it was on sale. You might have to tinker with it. It took me over 40 minutes to get my ram running at 3800mhz. I had to learn about 2 programs.1) Typhoon Memory burner2) AMD RYZEN DRAM calculator (see youtube for more info)Ram did not work right out of the box on my 1700x but did work on my new 3700x, this was clearly a CPU speed issue where the older 1700x did not like 3200 or higher mhz.BOTTOM LINE: Is this ram good ? YESIS A GOOD DEAL: At 124.00$ , Hell YES (price 3800mhz ram, it's more than 2x price)You probably will have to tinker with it if you have an older CPU/MOTHERBOARD. XMP does not work ALL the time but if you do your homework you can get your ram to work at the fastest speeds possible.
