I bought this 2 tb hard drive for my PS4 and it works great, when I had my 500 GB hard drive I had to keep on deleting my games and re-download them and I got tired of it, so I decided to get the 2 tb hard drive and I watched videos of how to install the new hard drive and it only took me about an hour to do all the process (remove the old hard drive, install the new hard drive, and reinstall the installation update). Before I removed my old hard drive I had to back up my data quickly and then I did everything, and then I backed up my data after I installed my new hard drive and I re-downloaded all my games. Now I'm so happy that I can play all my games again and everything I had on the old hard drive is on the new hard drive I'm so happy about that as well haha. I had no problems at all with this new hard drive, I love it haha. I would definitely recommend getting this hard drive for your PS4.

This works great in my PS4 slim. I quick formatted a usb hard drive as exFAT and backed up all my games and settings in 2 hours. Then I downloaded and put the "System Software" from sony's website: [...]It didn't take long to replace the hard drive, since this is a little thinner it didn't sit right on the metal of the enclosure but it was easy to get the four screws started with a little space between the drive and the bottom of the enclosure. Then I powered up the PS4 holding the power button for at least 7 seconds (to hear a second beep) to enter safe mode and installed the system software. When it rebooted I restored the backup from the system menu (another 2 hours) and I was good to go with 1TB/1.77TB free

Recently I got the four lights of hard drive failure on my Tivo Bolt+. The preferred 3tb drive was not available. I ordered this drive to replace the failed Western Digital 3tb that was shipped with the unit. I was able to swap in this unit and made a quick call to Comcast to pair the cable card. The replacement drive has been working great with no issues.

My Samsung m9t that I had installed in my PS4 deleveloped a terrible chirping noise so I replaced it with this. I found out it was a common problem with the drive. Seagate owns Samsung's hard drive division and there 9mm thick 2tb drive is the same as the Samsung drive I owned, but as this drives is of a different, newer design I believe it may not be prone to the same design problem. Will update if it suffers the same fate (took over a year before the last drive acted up).Pros:This really is the only option if you want a hard drive larger than 2tb that fits in a ps4. As I mentioned the other Samsung/seagate 2tb hard drives are prone to defect. So capacity is a plus.Cheaper than a 2tb SSDVery fast read speeds and quicker loading times on my ps4.Very thin for a hard drive, could be a svelte portable hard drive with an enclosure.Cons:This is shingled hard drive which means write speeds can be slower than a conventional drive, This typically only slows down rewriting data which doesn't affect ps4 usage in my experience. But if you do a lot of editing of large files you may want to look at another drive.
