PNY CS900 120GB 3D NAND SATA 6Gb/s, 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive

I purchase several things on Amazon, and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. I caught this as an Amazon gold box deal of the day and purchased it for $32.00 which I felt was a bargain. A powerful little drive that works as advertised - boot up time in Microsoft Windows 10 Pro went from 2 minutes to around 30 seconds which is a huge difference from booting from a SATA or IDE drive and it was real easy to install.But this SSD drive was an addition to the speed factor as I have a pair of G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB RAM with the addition of a affordable EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC with 4GB GDDR5 RAM Graphics Card. So my computer has sped up greatly with the addition of this SSD. You may need a mounting plate for this SSD if your computer case is not screw-less since it does not come with one. An excellent mounting kit is the Inateck 2x2.5 Inch SSD to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit Bracket since it can hold 2 SSD drives and comes with everything included such as SATA Data Cables and Power Cables to complete your SSD drive installation.I also have a Samsung 860 EVO 500GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD drive but I purchased the PNY CS900 240GB 2.5" Sata III Internal SSD Drive since it was over half the price of the Samsung SSD and I could use it as a backup drive.Also I did a speed read / write test with Crystal Disk Mark 6.0 and the write speed was about 250 MB/s with a brief peak near 400MB/s and read speed was about 425MB/s.Hope this helps someone - have an awesome life.

PNY is known for making good SSD's, so being able to pick this one up for under $25.00 was a no-brainer. I've been using these to improve performance in my customer's aging laptops to help them extend the life of their systems and better their performance without them thinking they need to purchase a new laptop. Setup is very simple and the read/write rates are pretty accurate to those stated on the box and specification sheet. While there are now faster SSDs, when it comes to price to performance, being from a reputable brand like PNY makes these a viable solution for both older systems and Windows drives in desktop computers where larger mechanical drives can be used for storage.Pros - Everything mentioned above.Cons - None.
