The drive came as promised in manufacturer's box. Easy to install if you have done it before. Does not come with any initializing or partitioning software, so that has to be done by user. So far the drive is quiet and functioning as expected.

At first I was sent a faulty drive but after returning it and getting a new one, the new one ended up working perfectly! The support for it was great and the shipping was very fast!

Use them for a long time. Seagate data insurance works.

Like the title states. Why buy. A used drive when you can get a brand new one for some bucks more.If course it depends on your usage but for me it was a no brained since I use it for a NAS.I would recommend the newer style of 3gb drive that is a a little slower but uses only half the electricity.I noticed this to late.Nonetheless I am satisfied with the drive so I ordered 3 more to replace all of the drives in my NAS.THRe “old” ones were seafarers also and gave up after only 20.000 hours. I would expect more but since I do t really know were they came from I can’t tell. They came with the Lenovo NAS.
