I originally bought a pair of these drives in 2014 for a simple 2-drive RAID 1 array. They worked seamlessly on an almost continuous basis in that setting for about 9 years, until one died.Recently I purchased the same model of drive to replace the dead drive, it came, it's identical, the process of replacing my dead drive was a no-brainer.But, the manufacture date code on the 'new' drive corresponds with a 2015 manufacture date. These are great drives, but at 8-10 years old, it's a little hard to put a ton of trust in them as a spot to park my data. I'll use them for now, but they're an interim option at best.

The Seagate hard drive that I purchased to replace the internal drive on my security camera system for my business worked immediately with no issues.
