I've had two of the Seagate IronWolf Pro drives installed in my Synology DiskStation DS218J NAS device for about a year now. One drive serves as a backup drive to my network. The other is a drive dedicated to playing video media on my home theater system. Both drives work great. No streaming issues when playing videos (on my prior drives I had this issue from time to time) and no errors on either drive. These have been reliable drives and I believe they should have at least a five-year lifespan. So far, so good.

I have used these Seagate IronWolf Pro hard drives in some RAIDs and backup drives for years. Each of them has survived over four years before any have failed. This is less extensive a test than those by Backblaze. Just budget to purchase replacements every 4 years and you won't be surprised when one fails.

The two hard-working Seagate drives in my Synology NAS were wearing out. I chose two of these as their replacements. Solidly built, lightning fast, highly recommended.
