The Western Digital WD101FZBX 10TB internal hard drive is a remarkable piece of hardware, especially for professionals working in fields requiring extensive data storage and high-speed access, such as neuroimaging. With its impressive 10TB capacity, this drive offers ample space for storing large datasets, which is essential for my work in neuroimaging. The substantial storage capacity ensures that I can keep extensive amounts of neuroimaging data without constantly needing to offload or manage space. In terms of speed, the WD101FZBX does not disappoint. Operating at 7200 RPM and utilizing a SATA 6 Gb/s interface, this drive provides quick read and write speeds, which significantly boosts productivity. This is particularly important in my line of work where high-speed data access can make a substantial difference in processing and analyzing large neuroimaging files. The installation process was straightforward, and the drive was easily installed in my Dell Precision 7820 workstation without any issues.Reliability is another key feature of this drive. My machine is often running 24/7, processing data continuously for up to a week at a time. The WD101FZBX has proven to be highly dependable under these conditions, maintaining performance without any signs of slowing down or failure. This consistent reliability is critical in ensuring that long-running tasks are completed without interruption. The Western Digital WD101FZBX is an excellent choice for anyone in need of a high-capacity, high-speed, and reliable hard drive for demanding professional applications. Its robust performance under continuous operation makes it an indispensable tool for my work in neuroimaging.

I have four of these drives, which I rotate in usage for doing 'system image' backups to. I do an image backup every month, as a just in case measure. If my main drive in my computer dies, I can plug this disk into the external disk housing and restore my system disk within hours (yes, I have a blank disk on hand, same brand/model, so that I can restore the image to). I have had no issues with any of the four disks that I have been using to do the image saves to. Although the disks are not in use everyday, they have handled the job over the years that I needed them to do. For this purpose, they have had a 100% success rate. BTW, 'yes', I create a new system recovery DVD, with each image backup, to have a fresh/current recovery DVD on hand, as the system does go through updates during a month, and you need that reflected in your recovery disk/image save.BTWI highly recommend that a 'system image' backup be done on any new system, immediately after set-up in house. This way you will always have the capability to restore your system to 'new' condition, if anything ever happens to it (system disk crash/infected system).

I have used this drive daily for a year. I have my steam video game collection on it and that is it. I have not had any slow down, stutter, or frame rate issues that would suggest read speed is not consistent. I don't believe the claims of speed but it has performed well for me. You can expect approx 9 TB of storage and it is glorious. The noise level is real complaint and for my use is no issue but be aware it is a thing. You will hear it do clicking at times as well. I have not seen a single instance of failure in regards to performance. I am hoping this drive lasts at least 5 years with daily use I am not rewriting data on it constantly so it should last. I keep it horizontal position in tower and I do not move tower or shake tower when computer turned on.So as far as I can tell I am using this product normally and it has yet to disappoint me.I compared this drive to others and for price performance I am happy. I am currently debating getting another one of smaller size for more consistent rewriting use.To prove I am a real person and not someone paid or a fake reviewer I will provide a statement proving I am the human.I am often wrong, my opinions can be changed over time. Therefore I am a real person and everyone now believes me. This product is good.

At first, I was spying on NVme SSD 4TB (Western digital) for my PC build. I bought one for my PS5 and it works fine. However, after considering the price, I felt it make more sense to get this WD 8TB internal hard drive instead of the NVme. It is cheaper plus I get more TB. Now, my PC has more than enough to store my pictures and videos for the next few years. Should I ran out of space, I will just get another one to extend my hard drive storage space. After reading others comment, I gave me confidence to jump on this when it was on sale. If this has anothe sale during black friday, I would recommand you to get this and wont wait on this. You wont regret anyway.
