I originally ordered a CX650M for my PC build but the fan noise from that PSU was a tad bit too loud for my liking. I started searching for a PSU that was specifically quiet at idle loads, and discovered this product through LinusTechTips' PSU tier list. I was a bit cautious that it was cheaper than similarly rated parts, but I read a couple favorable reviews and decided to take the plunge.Installation was very easy. Noise level is very low, I would say it hits 25 dbA max. A minor complaint I have is that the flattened style cabling was a bit of a nuisance because I wanted to connect them to PSU extension cords, but this isn't a concern if you're going to plug it straight into the motherboard. Another issue was that the motherboard power cable took an uncomfortable amount of effort to plug into the PSU because the connector heads are split into two parts. However, these issues were not enough to warrant docking a star and I am completely satisfied after having installed it. For about the same price as a budget oriented PSU like the Corsair CX650M, the Whisper M is probably the best bang for your buck PSU considering its gold rated efficiency and full modular design.

shipped fast considering weather. it came with all of the cables you need, all high quality ribbon cables that are easy to manage. only complaint is that the cables are a bit stiff so you might have to remove your hdd slot to install. cables were perfect lengths though

Great unit. Quiet and compact with great efficiency(AnandTech found that the 450W model actually hits platinum efficiency). Fully modular. 7 year warranty. The color scheme might be a turn off for those who have windowed cases and like to show off all of their hardware, but for most it won't be an issue. This unit is made by CWT(Channel Well Technology) who are known for their high quality PSU's(they also make some of Corsair's high end units).I see a lot of complaints about the cables. Yes, the 24 pin ATX cable has a big "boot" on it which houses capacitors that help with voltage stability. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, I had no trouble routing cables in an mITX case for a home server. One of the reasons I bought this unit was because of the style of cables, and of course efficiency and price. If you need a decently priced 450W PSU, I definitely recommend getting this.

I am using this in a small build for running pfSense and needed the PSU to be very quiet. I've never heard anything from the unit and have not seen any increase in power usage over the old style commercial router. Note that the new pfSense unit is a full blown 8 GB, 250 GB machine with an AMD r3 Ryzen, 2nd gen CPU. This is capable of all types of things that normal consumer gear is not able to achieve. Yet, there is no real power bump from the new box! So, quiet & efficient. (I know-- too many vars to consider in determining efficiency, but with CPU usage pegged at below 5% most of the time, PSU efficiency does factor in).
