Have there been some new changes to Cooler Master Elite 460W ATX +12V V2.31 SATA, PCI-E Power Supply RS460-PSARI3-US?The unit I just received has several variations from the product pictured and they appear to be improvements!(I just added five captioned pictures with notes of the variations in the picture gallery).1. The wires on my new power supply have a protective plastic grommet where they pass thru the metal case (instead of one mere zip tie through a little hole in the case to hold it and leaving the wires rubbing the bare metal edge of the case).2. The socket for the AC cord has ears that allow for screws to fasten it to the metal case (vs. the pushed in socket with no screws)3. The 115/220V switch is different and appears more substantial than in the pictures, different screws with slotted holes for them in the case, and has no metal case tabs impinging at the center of the switch.4. The components on the inside (as can be seen thru the back grill with lots of light) are very different, looks like more of them, and laid out totally different than the components seen on the on-line pictures of the product.Several other sites (not Amazon) showed the lack of the following changes:5. There are 2 cables with four pin female plugs provided for the 12V CPU connection(s) to the mother board instead of just one.6. The SATA plugs on other on-line sites had only 4 wires (leaving out the orange 3.3V wire on each plug) - This unit has all 5 wires including the orange 3.3 volt connections! There may be other differences too, but I can't open the case without voiding the warranty. I have looked at many other web vendor's sites and cannot find another one just like mine (They all look like the one pictured on Amazon)! My label says "RS-460-PSAR-I3" and "460" at the top right corner (same as the Amazon product pictured).I suspect that Cooler Master has come out with several engineering changes to improve these PSUs, but I could not find any information about that on the internet - the Cooler Master site only has the RS-460-PSAR-J3 listed ("J" instead Of "I") and basically looks identical to all of the RS-460-PSAR-I3s that I have found pictured on the 'net. Go figure! But I'm happy with what I got - It worked perfectly and very quietly from the first power-on yesterday and is still working perfectly today in my Dell Inspiron 530 desktop - I replaced the original 350 watt supply that Dell supplied because I have added a higher power graphics card, a USB 3.0 card, and occasionally have 2 hard drives running in it so I thought I should do this before the original PSU quit on me (a little Preventive Maintenance). The only gripe I would mention is with the single piece of paper "manual" provided: I pity someone who has never installed a new power supply because their 3-step instructions would leave the user with a physically mounted, but not connected to anything power supply - Such as the mother board or cards or other devices! But since I've done this many times before I knew what else to do.

Recently purchased this power supply as a replacement for a 5+ year old Dell PC. Since replacing it via the Dell service route would've taken me at least $100+, Amazon was my next logical stop. Regardless this little power supply is absolutely amazing for slightly outdated or lower end systems. The power output is fairly generous for any system. As long as you do not over load your system with extreme gaming graphics cards this baby will keep it running smooth. This power supply isn't that loud under regular load, in comparison to some of the power supply I have worked with in the past this product is actually out performing its price by a long stretch. Only down side I can see is slight annoyance with cable organization, it makes my case look slightly messy but I can at least live with that.Hands down best budget power supply for its price, I doubt you will find a better one from a reputable manufacturer anytime soon.

I was looking for an inexpensive power supply (PSU) to replace the failed one in my mother's Dell PC. I found this model on a review site (Tom's Hardware), which recommended it as one of the best inexpensive PSUs for non-gamers.I ordered it, and thanks to the beauty of Amazon Prime, it was delivered in two days. It was a cinch to swap over to this new PSU (I've built new computers from scratch, but anyone should be able to do this repair if they know which end of a screwdriver to hold). This new PSU is quiet, and so far no problems. I will update this review at a later date if any issues are encountered, but I expect good things from it as the Cooler Master brand has proven reliable to me before.Safety Tips: Be sure you follow common sense and safety precautions: Unplug your old machine before working on any electrical equipment! Other than that, you should have no issues.
