QUALITY. VALUE. EFFICIENT, EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE. OPTIONS. (Modular, round-wrapped cable design allows for improved air flow to be further improved by allowing the exclusion of several unused cable SETS.) Oh, yeah...& that 140mm fan is whisper QUIET.

I purchased this item is "used - like new" condition from Amazon Warehouse Deals, so I can't say whether a truly brand new unit would also produce this noise, but it's completely unbearable. I bought this to use for my media server, which sits in my entertainment center cabinet. The noise basically makes it impossible to watch anything, or even be in the same room, despite the fact that the tower is located inside a cabinet. Most search results I encountered suggested that when power supplies made this type of sound, it was usually due to a bad capacitor. So, thanks for selling me a failing power supply that you clearly didn't test, Amazon.Would not buy again, would not recommend.

Have installed several of these power supplies. Nice design and modular wiring keeps the clutter down. But had one unit failed after 7+ months (installed late May 2012, failed 1/21/13). PC used daily in office environment for 8 to 10 hrs and not over loaded (250 watts or less). RMA back to manufacture where you pay shipping and replacement unit has only 90 day warranty. The other units working ok.
