So far this power supply has been super solid. No issues after a couple of power outages, and seems to put out consistent power. Easily powers high end hardware with no unexpected shut downs. Only negative I have with this thing is the whining. You can here it depending on the power draw, a high pitch whine coming from it. It doesn't bother me, because I usually have headphones on most of the time, but just something to be aware of. Overall, happy with my purchase. I have always trusted Silverstone power supplies and actually have one 10 years old that's still going strong.

I write this review after 2 years of heavy use of 500W SFX-L in my Mini-ITX machine.Recently the power supply cable was slightly pulled and not all the way in which caused some blue sparks coming out of the back of the power supply. Like an idiot, it took me a while to process what was happening, and before I knew it I smelled hot copper and the system shut down. It wouldn't boot back up, not even after 20 mins.I assumed the pc died. Either the PSU blew up or the MOBO was fried. But the next day I when I tried to turn it on again, it was working and just like new! Turns out it was some sort of safety mechanism by the the SilverStone PSU that prevented the system from booting if the temperature is too hot and it prevented the system from being fried when it sensed a large electrical discharge. On top of all that, after 2 years and this incident, it still runs smoothly and silently and keeps the system cool.Worth. Every. Penny.**UPDATE**It's 2020, 4 years later, in a hotter climate with worse electrical current and still going strong.

This will be my first time building a mini itx computer making it my third pc build. Wanted to maximize space and increase airflow so choosing a SFX power supply in my mind was a no brainer. The reason for choosing this power supply was based on the original case I had in mind for this build which was the Silverstone ML08B-H. Loved the slim design and the fact that it had a carrying handle. However I decided to go with a Cooler Master Elite 130 do to its support for all in one liquid coolers and better airflow. Even after changing cases I already had my mind set on this awesome little power supply. It also comes with an adapter to mount on an ATX case so it will fit just fine in the Elite 130 case. I'm use to using power supplies that come with sleeved cables however I am glad it came with flat cables so it is easier to work with inside cramped spaces. If you are building a mini itx computer I highly recommend this power supply by Silverstone.Small form factor without having to use a smaller fanIncluded mounting bracketFlexible Black CablesFully modular for easier upgrades and maintenance. (Used non modular power supplies and will not go back)Zero RPM fan for silent operationAnd of course the pimpin snowflake on the fan grill

I received revision 1.1 of this power supply, as per the item description which is great. Up and running for a few days in my mini-ITX build with a 450 watt RTX 3090, runs great. My unit has a bit of coil whine that I can only hear if I put my face right next to the vent in my case where the PSU sits. Hence my 4 star rating. I've never had coil whine on any other PSU. Time will tell whether it holds up, this is my first Silverstone PSU. Flat cables are convenient, no complaints. Incredible that I can fit a 1000 watt PSU into my mini-ITX case. I will never have to build a larger ATX based system ever again.
