Silverstone Tek 600W +12V Rail 80PLUS Bronze 100% Fully Modular Active PFC Power Supply ATX12V/EPS12V 600 Power Supply

Positives:This PS (power supply) is efficient, quiet, cool, dependable and fully modular. I have owned this PS over a year and it is in a Media Center PC that is on all the time. It has worked perfectly to date.Negitives:No on/off switch.This is not exactly Silverstone's fault but the modular cables are not interchangeable from one manufacturer to another. I tried to use a Silverstone modular molex cable in a Themaltake PS and the computer complained loudly. A quick check showed that the pinouts were different. Worse yet I bought another Thermaltake PS and the plugs were completely different than my first Thermaltake PS. So the short story is that there is no standardization of modular PS cables.I will and have purchased another:I bought this power supply for my Media Center PC. I wanted a dead quiet and highly efficient PS and this one fit the bill. I didn't really need 1000watts. The peak efficiency of this PS is at about 500watts. That is closer to what I am actually using. I have never paid this much for a PS before but I liked it so well that I purchase another one today.

OK, I had a burning desire to get into some of that GPGPU cuda computing. The rig I assembled isn't bleeding edge today, maybe it would have been 6 months or so ago. Other than the case and power supply, most components really drop in price over the first few months. It handles the load, is quiet, and doesn't get too hot. It installed easily and comes with a nice collection of modular connectors. Being modular, only those connectors I need are in the case, making for a much cleaner install. The motherboard and case can fit a third video card and this power supply can probably handle it just fine because each is about 160 watts).As for the rig, oh wow. CUDA programs are scary fast. I've also gamed a bit on it (world of warcraft, starcraft 2) and that was a rather nice experience. I don't think either game stressed the rig at all.Silverstone is a good brand and I expect that I'll use this power supply in future systems after this rig gets old and crusty.

Extremely nice power supply. If you're building a GPGPU (graphics processor/card for general purpose computing--graphics cards can do up to a couple of TeraFLOPS each) supercomputer using a motherboard with multiple 16X PCI-express slots (typically used for graphics cards) such as the eVGA Classified 4-way SLI, then this is the power supply for you. Installs easily, all the cables are modular, more than enough cables to hook up four graphics cards. If you do this you'll need one of the Lian Li 10-slot cases--look on the eVGA web site to find 10-slot cases compatible with the high-end motherboards. Applications for this include building your own supercomputer for video processing or similar parallelized activities, or for instance driving up to 36 or more displays simultaneously using three of the Powercolor Eyefinity 12 graphics boards. We've been using this supply for several months now and so far it works great. Solid, well made, big quiet fan, seems to be really well done.

Is a perfect PSU for a Gaming Rig.Need Power?? Get a SilverStone Strider Plus...Perfect for OC enthusiast.. SLI & CrossFire X ready, lot of cables and the best is a modular PSU, very very silent 135mm fan. The only Issue is that you need a huge Chassis for the wired, cuz if you have a SLI config you have to use 4 cables (just for PCI-E) plus +12V EPS, +12V 24Pin + Peripherals. In my case i used 7 cables (2 PCI-E, 3 Peripherals, +12V EPS, +12V 24Pin) and i have the CM 690 by Cooler Master. is a huge case but not enough for this PSU. :DIn Less Words, i Highly Recommends this PSU.
