As a research student in molecular visualization and a PC enthusiast / casual gamer, this monitor is all that I could ask for. As someone used to using multi-monitor setups, my 15.6" laptop screen was starting to feel a little cramped for multitasking. I was looking for a high-quality, portable monitor that would let me work on the go (and potentially have a movie going on the side on less-busy days). This monitor more than satisfies me. It's an attractive, glossy display that is extremely thin, light-weight, and well-built. It comes in a high quality tablet-style case that makes for easy transport without fear of damaging the screen. I was immediately impressed with the brightness and colors of this monitor. While not the best I've ever worked with, it's noticeably better than my laptop (an MSI PS63 Modern) and extremely impressive for a portable display (I've worked with many standard desktop monitors with worse picture quality than this). While the sound isn't the best I've ever heard, it's a nice improvement over my laptop's built in speakers. While I would recommend using headphones, it's certainly manageable in a pinch. It runs well on USB-C (not Thunderbolt), and can also run from mini-HDMI as well. It includes a HDMI to mini-HDMI, a USB-C to USB-C, and a USB-A to USB-C cable (I should note that using mini-HDMI to HDMI requires an additional power cable unlike USB-C). I do find that USB-C is best for portability.Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. It's a beautiful-looking screen that does all that I could ask for. I highly recommend it to others.

I did some research before I picked up this unit and even though the cost was higher than other products that appear to be roughly the same, I decided to get this one based on name brand. For a long time, I've trusted MSI products. All I can say is its certainly not letting me down. Some of the reviews I watched and read around the internet all stated that brightness was an issue, however, at 50% brightness, this monitor is bright enough unless you were planning on using it outside during the day.Pros: Easy set up with a caveat. (See cons list)Nice included coverGlass frontIncluded mini-hdmi to hdmi, usb-c to usb-c and usb-c to usb-a.3.5mm headphone jackNot as heavy as I would have imagined.Cons: The only con that I've came across so far was figuring out how to set-up the cover to use as a stand but honestly, it only took maybe 5 minutes before I figured it out.The glass front, while wonderful looking, is a real fingerprint magnet. You'll most certainly need to wipe those away after setting up the stand.

I only wish they had a 17" version! Easy to set up. Decent quality picture - actually better than the MSI gaming laptop I was using this with. Will do portrait but its a little unstable in that orientation. Easily slips into the laptop bag with the rest of my gear. The included min-HDMI cable is short. So if your HDMI output is in the left side of your laptop and you want to place this monitor on the right you are out of luck. Get an HDMI/Mini-HDMI adapter and bring a longer HDMI cable. I plugged my laptop HDMI into the hotel TV and got a Mini-Display Port adapter to HDMI cable to plug into the mini-HDMI adapter for a three monitor setup. Ultimate road warrior dev environment! You will also need a higher output charger to use the included USB-C cable as a power source. My laptop does not have the right USB-C version so was unable to test single wire power/video from it.

Purchased as a third monitor that would fit under the main screens. Initial impressions are goodPros:- Good Picture Quality, Wide Viewing Angle, Responds Well to input when playing games.- Speaker is Fine for Watching TV, however does not get loud enough for use with company over- Headphone Jack, Mini-HDMI- Powered By USB-C, making replacement cables easy to get, and able to power from a laptop or console's USB port (tested both with a USB-C to USB-C and a USB-C to Standard USB 3 cable using my laptop (Acer Nitro 5) and my console (XBOX Series S).Cons:- Cables included are SHORT- Input and power on right side, as such, some set ups may struggle to reach (although this and the previous con can be resolved by simply going and buying longer cables)- Built in stand does slip a bit if does not have something in front holding it from sliding forward. I personally just have it resting against my mousepad, does not take much, but a lip on the end would be a great addition as a redesign (wink MSI wink)Edit: 8 Months Later: mini-HDMI port has fully stopped functioning making it near useless. Was good while it lasted, however the port just will not read anything. I've confirmed cables work with other monitors so it is definitely the port itself on the unit. I guess I can use it as a android screen now but 8 months for the port to go bad doesn't seem 5 star worthy. Reducing to 4 stars as it has shown it will not last.
